A Whole New Rural Adventure
Share
Imagine embarking on a whole new rural adventure, leaving behind many friends and memories of the last 23 years to pursue a dream in the serene countryside of Wales. Well, this is the next instalment of my blog when we decided to take a leap of faith and make a drastic change in our life.
Investing in industrial Embroidery Machines
While we were still in Gloucestershire we had a new workshop built to house my 2 commercial embroidery machines, so we could finally have our lounge back. The new workshop would be a place where my creativity could flourish, soon after orders picked up I decided to invest in two second hand industrial embroidery machines. These machines would be the backbone of the business, allowing for intricate designs to be created with precision and efficiency. Things ticked along nicely for the next couple of years.
Moving to Rural Wales
Then came the bold decision to move to rural Wales, it was the perfect time, our sons had grown up and were making their own way and memories in the world. I was lucky that I had a business that could be done from anywhere, the lush greenery, rolling hills, and peaceful surroundings provided the perfect backdrop for our new venture.
New Workshop
As soon as we moved in, project 'New Workshop' was started, I was very fortunate that I had a fantastic brother who is a builder and was able to sweet talk him to build it for us, our dreams could be turned into reality.
Putting the Business on Hold
Despite the excitement of the new beginnings, l had to put the business was put on hold for six months to settle and build the new workshop. It was a period of adjustment and reflection, but the dream kept us motivated.
Building a New Customer Base
Once the dust had settled and the new workshop was up and running, l faced the challenge of building up a new customer base in a different location. It was a daunting task, but with perseverance, but not without anxieties I was able to attract clients who appreciated my work and attention to detail.
Embarking on a rural adventure, building a workshop, investing in industrial embroidery machines, and fulfilling a dream to move to rural Wales was no easy feat. It required courage, determination, and a willingness to embrace change. But in the end, we found fulfilment and success in pursuing our passion in the tranquil countryside, it was the best thing we did, no regrets
